About CMS-USA

Gospel Driven
The principal motivation of CMS-USA is the advancement of the Good News of Jesus Christ in the world. We dedicate ourselves to be a response to the Great Commission of our Lord to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19).
Intercultural Mission
The overriding missional question CMS-USA seeks to address is: How shall we make Christian disciples and form Christian churches in the context of high ethnic diversity? Our Lord prayed, “May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved me even as you have loved me” (John 17:23). In response to this prayer we dedicate ourselves to the formation of winsome intercultural churches and effective leaders in the intercultural mission movement.
Evangelical Orientation
CMS-USA affirms the Christian faith as uniquely revealed in the Bible and
expressed in the Church’s historic creeds. We believe in the sovereignty
and grace of God the Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We
affirm the teaching of Scripture as the normative ethical framework and guideline
for the conduct of all human relationships, including marriage, family, work
and church
Independent
So as not to limit the ministry to any particular church denomination or region, CMS-USA is independent in governance and administration.
Church Mission
In an attempt to minimize structural divisions between church communities and mission agencies, CMS-USA is headquartered in an intercultural church community and engages local membership in its ministry. We also seek the active participation of churches in the recruitment, screening and training of mission personnel.
Team Approach
In keeping with its purpose to create sustained intercultural fellowship, CMS-USA is dedicated to multi-ethnic teamwork in governance and administration as well as in mission deployment, training, and consultation.
